Why I love my job - Reason #5

One of my current projects at work is the reclaimation of (2) dormatories on the CU Boulder Campus. Part of my job is to go survey the existing conditions of these dorms (disgusting) and turn them back into residence halls from their current condition. CU has been using these dorms as office space for the past few years, and they are getting to the point where they must have additional student housing.

The dorms are disgusting. Their is this faint odor of dirty boy smell and stinky feet that permeates the air as you walk up and down the corridors. You don't even want to think about what goes on in these rooms.

So you may be wondering why I am putting this as one of the reasons I love my job... well, I am glad that I experienced dorm life, it allowed me to get where I am today. I am also glad I experienced it at the time of my life where I was moving out of my parents house into my first "independant" living situation. Living in the dorms, going to CU, and graduating from the engineering department has hopefully put me in a position, where I will hopefully NEVER have to live in those conditions ever AGAIN.

For those of you who lived in Willard and Hallett.... I am so sorry. Those dorms are AWFUL.
