Dancing Baby

Ellie enjoys dancing in her car seat. Lately we have been getting this fist pumping type action. I tried to get a video of it... but she was too tired to fist pump.

After her trip to the zoo, she still wanted to dance. So here is a short video (sorry for the quality this is with my phone) dancing on the way home.

30 seconds later - here is a picture of Ellie passed out. I guess the dancing really wore her out.

Flowers & Birds

I thought I would share a couple of my other favorite flower pictures with you. This summer we planted sunflowers in our garden for (2) reasons. The first is that they will get tall enough to block the view of the neighbors, and the second is with hopes of getting sunflower seeds.

What I absolutely love about this picture is that at first glance the sunflower looks like painted glass. The sun was directly behind the sunflower, and just made the colors pop. One of my favorites for sure. I will try and get some pictures of my purple sunflowers up as well, as they have a really cool color.

This is the center of one of the giant sunflowers. I love the center. It looks like a maze. I love the natural patterns that occur in flowers and think how much work goes into making such an interesting and detailed patterns.

This is one of our little lady hummingbirds that comes by the feeder every night. I love how the hummingbirds have gotten so comfortable with me being in the yard with them that they let me get close enough to take pictures like this. The hummingbirds don't mind if I am in the yard, even if I am sitting directly under the feeder. Kind of cool, until they start to have a fight over your head.

Kitty Cat...

A few years ago, I was a cat for Halloween. Ellie found the cat ears - and has taken a liking to them. Way too cute in my opinion. Plus they worked perfectly with her outfit.

Simpsonized!

A co-worker pointed out that I hadn't "Simpsonized" E yet. So here she is. (Like I have nothing better to do at work). I couldn't get the hair to work out well, because E has none, and that wasn't an option for a 2 year old apparently.

Ellie's First Rockie's Game

Friday night we were invited to go to the Rockie's game with our friends Kevin and Winter. If any of you are looking for the best realtor in town, Winter is your woman! She is awesome. Anyhow, Kevin and Winter have these really sweet season tickets right up behind homeplate on the third base side just under the second level overhang. The seats were awesome. The overhang was also awesome considering that there was a 45 minute rain delay. Thanks Kevin and Winter! We had a great time.

Here is a picture of the family at the Rockies game. E did awesome, and even slept in a bit this morning for Mom!

I can't quite get my head around this one...

I read this article through a link on another blog that I read every day. I can't quite get my head around this one. The love that I feel for E is the most incredible, unimaginable love that I have ever experienced. This story has torn me in two different directions. After reading the story I am sure that you will see why this story made me angry as well as extremely greatful. I have to continually remind myself every single day that it takes all kinds of people to make up the world that we live in, and that it is a choice every single day as to what type of person to be. Part of the person that I try and be is accepting of others even if I don't agree with their actions. This one pushed my limits.

Side note, this article is long, and it made me cry. So work may not be the best place to read it.

New Masthead

I updated the masthead to the blog tonight. Over the summer I have been taking lots of pictures of flowers in our yard and around the neighborhood. This is quite possibly my favorite photo and flower of the summer. I hope that you all enjoy it as much as I do.
