Flowers & Birds

I thought I would share a couple of my other favorite flower pictures with you. This summer we planted sunflowers in our garden for (2) reasons. The first is that they will get tall enough to block the view of the neighbors, and the second is with hopes of getting sunflower seeds.

What I absolutely love about this picture is that at first glance the sunflower looks like painted glass. The sun was directly behind the sunflower, and just made the colors pop. One of my favorites for sure. I will try and get some pictures of my purple sunflowers up as well, as they have a really cool color.

This is the center of one of the giant sunflowers. I love the center. It looks like a maze. I love the natural patterns that occur in flowers and think how much work goes into making such an interesting and detailed patterns.

This is one of our little lady hummingbirds that comes by the feeder every night. I love how the hummingbirds have gotten so comfortable with me being in the yard with them that they let me get close enough to take pictures like this. The hummingbirds don't mind if I am in the yard, even if I am sitting directly under the feeder. Kind of cool, until they start to have a fight over your head.
