Why I Love My Job - Reason #4

One of the best parts of my job is that I actually can show you what it is I do (besides sitting at my desk and going to meetings all the time). Unlike certain people we know (whom shall remain nameless) I can tell you and show you what I do, and I won't have to kill you afterwards. It is something that you can see while you are out and about, and I bet (especially for those of you who live in Colorado) you have been effected by at least one of my projects.

Now, I could show you really awesome pictures like this.....

or this.....

But, they really don't mean anything to you. But this is part of what I do. Pictures like the ones above, make the following pictures possible. In case you were wondering what it is that I do when I am not blogging and chasing Ellie, I design electrical systems for buildings, roadways, parks, airports, hospitals, etc.

Centennial Gardens - Denver, CO

Centennial Gardens Entry - Denver, CO

DIA - Curbside Expansion - Denver, CO

Littleton Adventist Hospital - ICU Patient Room - Littleton, CO
DTC Entry Park - Belleviewe & I-25, Denver, CO

TREX - I-25, Denver, CO

TREX Light Rail Station @ Louisiana, Denver, CO

Park Hill Community Health Center - Denver, CO

UNC Dining Hall - Greeley, CO

The following picture, is probably one of the projects that I am most proud of. However, I hope with all of my heart that NONE of you actually ever sees the inside of this room in person.

Pediatric Trauma Room - Denver Health Medical Center

Why I Love My Job - Reason #4 - I can show you what it is that I do - and it means something to you.

Rockin Baby

One of Ellie's favorite things to play with are her babies. She rocks them, feeds them, and puts them to bed. Putting them to bed involves laying them face down on the tile and covering them with a dish towel. There have been many times where I can't find any dish towels, because they are all being used as "blankies". Here is a picture of Ellie, rocking one of her babies. I think shortly after this, the baby went on time out for biting.

Is this what Nintendo intended?

Tom was busy playing Mario Kart one evening, and Ellie decided that she wanted to try it out. I really don't think that this is what Nintendo intended, when they thought of "family time". Regardless, she had a fun time. I don't think she ever made it around the track.

The Fort

Tom and I built a fort for Ellie. She was not nearly as excited about it as we were. We thought it was awesome. She thought it was a great place to store her toys.

A Pooh for a pooh?

Finally! After what seems like years (not really) Ellie has pooped on the toilet on her own! Meaning, we didn't catch her in the act and shove her on the toilet. She actually went in there, and did it all by herself! Tom and I must have scared her from all of our celebrating, because she started to cry.

As a special "treat" we told her she could pick out a special prize at the store later that day.

What does she pick out? A Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal.

How fitting.

Remy and Ellie

Ellie's buddy Remy was in Colorado a couple of weeks ago. Ellie adores Remy, and for a couple of days after he left, he was all she could talk about. Here are a few pictures of Ellie and Remy playing.

Gender Prediction Test #3

So in a way to have fun with this pregnancy until we actually find out the sex of the baby - we are trying all of the old wive's tales to see what the results may be.

Gender Prediction Test #3 -

Fast Heart Rate Tale:
Some people believe that if your baby has a fast heart rate, near 170 beats per minute, then that means you are having a girl, and that if your baby’s heart rate is closer to 150 beats per minute then you are having a boy.

We compared the heart rate of Ellie at the 8 week U/S to that of Baby #2. Ellie was high - 160's I believe, Baby #2 is much lower - 140's.

Result = BOY

SUMMARY:
Girl Results = 2
Boy Results =2
