A day with Ellie...

So, its been awhile since I spent an entire day with Ellie just the two of us. Man that girl wears me out! Always going going going.
She is going through a hitting phase. When she doesn't get her way she tends to hit. We are trying to teach her not to hit - but she still does it on occassion. This evening, she got mad that I wouldn't give her something and she hit me while we were sitting on the couch. I told her in a firm voice, "Ellie! Hitting hurts! You need to get off the couch and go on time out right now!" Next thing I know, she is jumping off the couch and running to her time out corner. I actually had to get up and look to see if that is what she was doing. It was so funny that it was really hard not to laugh. First time she listened to me all day. Once I went and told her it was ok to get up - she came running over to me, hugged me and said, "Sorry Mama". Totally just melts your heart.
As part of our adventures today, Ellie went swimming in the pool on the patio. She had an absolute blast. I think she may have a real profession as a "pool girl".
I have attached some photos of Ellie the past few days.

Feels good!

The "Squat"

Apparently after the "Squat" the pool was really dirty. She had to clean up

The pool was really dirty. Ellie and her new profession as the "Pool Girl". That was the worst diaper I have ever cleaned up in my entire life. Even comparing to the stomach flu diapers we have dealt with in the past. I really wish Tom was home so I could have used one of my diaper coupons that he gave me for Mother's Day that lets me hand over any diaper I don't want to change, even after looking at it.

Sorry! That last comment was from me- I forgot I was signed in under a different account. :)
BTW, good for you for trying to take control of the hitting! We do deep breaths during times of frustration/ hitting and those seem to work Sometimes, just the act of breathing in and out really big makes Audrey giggle and it's enough to turn the foul mood upside-down. Oh the joys!
