Oh a camping we will go...

Tom had planned to take Ellie on a camping trip this summer down to the Sand Dunes. Things came up, and he was never able to take her down there for the camping trip. So instead, he decided, that they would go camping in the backyard one night. Ellie had a great time, and wants to sleep in the tent all the time. She loved the tent so much, she didn't want to sit by the "campfire" (aka duraflame log in a fire pit), she just wanted to be in the tent.

Tom and Ellie setting up the tent in the wilderness.

Ellie is now bored with setting up the tent. She will sit and watch Dad do the rest of the work.

Notice the cell phone usage as Dad is setting up the tent.

Ellie trying out the tent for the first time. She wouldn't even let me get the sleeping bag down first.

Ellie sitting by the campfire with Dad, and her lantern.

Dad and Ellie roasting marshmallows over the campfire. This is about the time when she looked at me and said she was tired of this, and wanted to go in the tent.

Ellie in the tent, in her sleeping bag, with the lantern on. She was ready to go. I think it was about 830pm.

Tom said it took about an hour to get her to settle down, and turn the lantern off. Finally they were asleep. You may be wondering where I was during all of this... sleeping inside in my cozy bed of course!
