The Big Girl Room - Steps 1-98

With the arrival of the new baby happening in October, Tom and I decided that Ellie should get something special. So she got herself a brand new big girl room! The new baby will move into Ellie's old room, and we are not planning on redoing that room.

One condition of moving into the big girl room, is that Ellie had to be potty trained. So, since she has accomplished this (for the most part), Tom and I got our butts in gear, and started putting together her Big Girl Room.

Here are some photos of the journey. We are almost done. We have to install the chair rail yet, and I have a butterfly type mobile thingy to go across the ceiling that I have to get installed yet.

Before Pictures:

This is one of my favorite painting details in the existing room - notice how the purple doesn't quite stop at the corner, and how the yellow doesn't quite make it to the purple. WHO DOES THIS???

Yet another existing detail. Instead of removing the header from across the blinds, lets just paint around it.

In the closet, they let their daughter do this awesome detail work. Again, WHO DOES THIS???

Here are a couple of pictures after we primed the entire room.

Pink #1 - Taffy Pink. Applied.

Preparing for the stripes....

Pink #2 - Savvy Pink Stripes applied

Pink #3 - Polka Pink Stripes Applied

Finished product - minus 2 steps... Chair rail and butterfly mobile thingy....

Ellie loves her Big Girl Room. She loves playing in there, and wants to go in there to go to bed. The best part? Because Ellie's room and our room don't share a wall anymore, she doesn't hear us getting up in the morning, and has been sleeping in. YEAH!!!
