I think what Tom and I enjoyed most about the party was being able to see Ellie interact with her school friends. We know that she is comfortable around 1 or 2 others, but we weren't sure how she interacted around her classmates. It was fun to see her playing and having a good time with all the kids from school.
She is also a lot more daring when her friends are around. Tom and I have taken Ellie to this pool 3 or 4 times this summer, and she has refused to go play on the jungle gym in the water, or go down the water slides. However, one of her little buddies at the party wanted to climb all over the equipment and go down the slides. So of course, Ellie did too. This was her first experience on an enclosed water slide, let alone by herself. She did awesome, and wanted to do it over and over again. Unfortunately, we don't have pics of the water slide, because the place is full of water canons and the like, and I didn't feel like ruining my camera.
